Walnut & Bacon Crusted Mahi Mahi 🐟🥓🌰

A savory, smoky, and crunchy crust that takes your Mahi to the next level—loaded with nutty richness, crispy bacon, and bold seasoning. Perfect for a backyard dinner with gourmet vibes.

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup walnuts

  • 3 crispy bacon slices

  • 2 tsp Fat Boy Rub

  • 1 tsp Everglades Seasoning

For the Fish:

  • 4 Mahi Mahi fillets

  • 2 eggs (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Crust:
Add walnuts, bacon, Fat Boy Rub, and Everglades Seasoning to a food processor. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

  2. Prep the Fish:
Pat Mahi fillets dry. Dip each piece in beaten egg to coat, then press firmly into the walnut-bacon mixture to form a crust on one or both sides.

  3. Set the Crust:
Place coated fillets on a parchment-lined tray and chill in the freezer for 10 minutes. This helps the crust stay put during baking.

  4. Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake the Mahi Mahi until the internal temperature reaches 137°F—typically about 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness.

🎣 Serve with: A squeeze of lemon, roasted veggies, or a drizzle of Joker Smoker White BBQ Sauce for extra wow.

🔥 Pro Tip: Want an even crispier crust? Finish under the broiler for 1–2 minutes.

Bold. Buttery. Bacon-packed. Welcome to flavor town. 😎
